Empowering Women’s Self Support
Western medicine and science have made huge strides in understanding the female-sexed body - but, as a result, the common knowledge of our own bodies has largely been lost from our culture, and our medical practitioners and female healthcare professionals now hold the keys to our wellness.
Through the lens of Ayurveda we can reacquaint ourselves with our personal health, come to appreciate a deeper understanding of our own bodies and become empowered to support ourselves in our day-to-day wellness.
This on demand course is broken down into two parts. In the first session, Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, will embark on an overview of common disorders that can affect the female-sexed body from an Ayurvedic perspective and how we can work to remedy these in our daily routines. Coming to appreciate the cycles and functions of female health and how they impact us, from the onset of menarche all the way through to menopause.
In the second session, Vasant Lad will embark on an overview of major imbalances that are experienced by female-sexed bodies in the modern world like: menorrhagia (profuse bleeding during menses), amenorrhea (decreased or lack of menses), dysmenorrhea (painful menses), PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), and endometriosis.
After this course you will be empowered to understand these common disorders through an Ayurvedic lens and walk away with some common treatments, therapies, and support for any individual experiencing these imbalances.
